October 1999 - CEZAR wins his TT
Our CEZAR is certified Temperament Tested by the Eastern Rarebreed Dog Club.
To put it mildly, CEZAR passed the test with ...., ahem ...., "flying" colors :

May 1999 - BRUNO and HURMA win their TT's
HURMA iz Illinka, my beloved "Hema", and her son BRUNO Esquire were the first Caucasians to receive the ATTS Temperament Test certification. American Temperament Test Society, Inc. (ATTS). ATTS is the only non-profit organization that gives the TT (Temperament Tested) title for a dog in the US. The "TT" is copyrighted by the ATTS and the test is standardized across the country. Click here to learn more about temperament testing and ATTS.Here's how we learned the good news :

"July 29, 1999

Dear Stacey Kubyn,

Congratulations to you and your dogs, Ch. Esquire's Bruno and Hurma of Illinka Esquire. According to ATTS records, your dogs are the first two Caucasian Ovcharka to have earned the "TT" Temperament Title. Your dogs earned this title in East Rochester OH on May 1, 1999 - and have been recorded as TT-1-COV and TT-2-COV respectively. The Temperament Title speaks well for your dogs and for your breed.
Please inform us if you have a breed publication which we should notify of your dogs' achievement.

Carl K. Herkstroeter
President, ATTS"

Their handler wrote :

I handled the dogs and all-in-all the testing was a breeze and the dogs were perfect citizens during the 5 hour wait with the other dogs and people. Both Bruno and Hema scored very well in Protection, and stood their ground and investigated the gunshots. In usual style, Hema investigated the umbrella prop by going around it and investigating the station worker holding it!"

We are so very proud of "Hema" and her son !

October 1998 - ALAINA certified as a Delta Society Therapy Dog
Ch. ALAINA Esquire, owned and loved by Vicky Anderson of Cleveland OH has again passed the biannual recertification test as a Delta Society Pet Partners Therapy Dog Level I. She won her showring championship in 1995. "Lena" is the first certified Caucasian Ovcharka Therapy Dog in the world. Recertification requires passing a 2 part test. Part A is the equivalent of a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Part B tests mental and physical stability for work in a hospital environment. The dog must demonstrate exemplary behavior around ambulatory devices, be bumped into, not startle at dropped pans, not react negatively to people moving in an uncoordinated manner, clumsy petting, and shouting. "Lena" does hospital rounds at least once a month :
